01 Apr Case Study: Private Development in Oxfordshire
We were approached following a holding objection from the Local Planning Authority (LPA) Tree Officer, for a planning application for a new annexe.
No arboricultural information had been submitted as part of the application and we were tasked with gathering baseline data and preparing an Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIA).
The survey indicated that while the proposals had been sympathetically designed to accommodate the existing trees, the proposed ground levels would cause significant harm to the most important tree on the site. Based on our advice, the scheme was amended to afford greater protection to the tree. Following submission of the AIA, the LPA Tree Officer withdrew their objection and consent was granted earlier this month.
