20 Aug Outdoor workshops recognise a historic Tree Frontiers project
We’re delighted to see trees receiving the recognition they deserve while we work with the design team on a scheme that we have been involved in for the last 14 years, to ensure that key trees are incorporated into the development proposals.
Company, Place were commissioned to run free, two-hour outdoor mark-making and walking workshops that explored our relationship with trees and ways we can observe them.
Led by artist Alastair Kwan and nature writer Jo Sinclair the session covered knowledge on local trees and animal homes within the ecosystem, alongside the process of recording the environment through taking rubbings.
The sessions highlighted the importance of trees not just as part of the landscape, but as connectors between people, place, and memory. From the ancient Veteran Oak to new saplings, trees became both material and metaphor—tools to unlock curiosity, conversation, and creative expression.
